My name is Jana Zschoche. (It’s Jana like Anna, and my last name is pronounced Shockey — yes, really.) I’m a 29-year-old photographer from the Washington, D.C. area — specifically northern Virginia — and live in New York City, where I’m a theater publicist off-Broadway. I am a graduate of New York University, where I obsessed over political media and popular culture for my degree in Media, Culture, and Communication.

I started taking photos more than a decade ago and haven’t stopped, whether that is with a camera or iPhone in hand. Working with both digital and film, I love photographing people, small moments, and beautiful places. As a photographer, writer, and publicist, I’m most excited about people, their stories, and their work.

I am also an avid reader, writer, baker, TV binge-watcher, podcast addict, and long-suffering Mets fan. In addition to taking photos for you, I’d love to chat about books, travel, theater, pop culture, and the best places to get dessert.
