Oxford

A few weeks ago, I went on a day trip to Oxford. The university is beautiful and the town was lovely. I can't imagine going to school every day on a campus like Oxford's. I love the small streets between colleges and the old college buildings that are far older than any of our academic buildings at NYU. It was fun to wander around Oxford for the day with some friends.

Our tour guide first took us on a tour of Balliol College, giving us a bit of history of the college and Oxford in general. The annoying and distracting part was that our tour guide kept comparing everything to Harry Potter... We have dining halls too (though they certainly aren't as old and pretty).

The rest of our tour was a walk around the surrounding area, which included Hertford Bridge (similar to Venice's Bridge of Sighs), the Radcliffe Camera, and Bodleian Library, and passed by some of the other colleges of Oxford, including New College, Exeter College, and Hertford College.

We had lunch at the Turf Tavern, an old pub hidden down a winding and narrow alleyway, and then went to the Divinity School, a part of the Bodleian Library with incredible vaulting.

Our last stop was Christ Church College, where we explored the Meadow Building, the dining hall, the quad, and the cathedral. It was also fun to see the spots where Harry Potter had been filmed at Christ Church College (in addition to the Divinity School) - the dining hall, staircase, hallways, and quad.

Winding streets and some signs of spring in Oxford:

Westminster

Hello from England! I'm currently in London for the spring semester. I got here almost three weeks ago, and during the first weekend my two of my roommates, Kristen and Claire, and I spent Sunday afternoon exploring. We wandered around Westminster, made our way past St. James' Park and Buckingham Palace, and headed down Oxford Street.

October

It feels like much longer than three months since Shae, Meena, and I went to Central Park to take some colorful fall photos. This fall in NYC was so pretty (and warmer than usual), and we went to Central Park at the perfect time this year. I finally edited the photos and put together this blog post in an effort to ignore the current forecast for 30 inches of snow...

Till June, New York.

Wonder: Renwick Gallery

The Renwick Gallery, which recently reopened after two years of renovation, has filled the museum with art installations in an exhibit is called Wonder. The walls have signs that say "photographed encouraged," so naturally I had to take a lot of photos, because the rooms were so interesting and perfect for some cool portraits with Meena. We spent a couple hours in the packed museum, taking pictures and watching the colors change in the first room featured in these posts.

Brittani + Connor

I'm back from a long, tiring, and stressful semester! I have several blog posts planned, and the first one up is pictures of Brittani and Connor from Thanksgiving!

When I went home last month for Thanksgiving, I got to see a lot of my family, which included seeing my cousin Robby and his wife Brittani, and finally meeting their cute little guy! Brittani and I had talked about taking some pictures of Connor while we were all back in Virginia, but it proved difficult to find the time between my quick visit, all the family and holiday things going on, and the bad weather. We ended up taking pictures hours before I left to go back to New York, and thanks to the rain we were stuck inside in my aunt and uncle's living room. Brittani and I made do with limited cloudy morning light and a tired, crying baby for some quick shots before possibly doing a full photoshoot when they come back for Christmas.

Next up: time to go edit a huge set of photos from an fall photo adventure in November and work on some recipes soon. I'm so happy to have some time to edit photos, put up some blog posts, read, and watch lots of TV now that the semester is over.

Happy holidays!
