Trip to London: Part 2

Part two of my London trip, presented out of order - days three and five. After going to Paris the second day, I had Thursday to myself before we went to see Cursed Child. My friend Sophia, also studying abroad in Europe, arrived in London that night to visit for the weekend. On Saturday, we started the day with brunch and filled the rest of the day with photos, Notting Hill, and crisscrossing the city a few times.

Shae had class all day on Thursday, so I had the day to myself. In the morning I ended up wandering around Bloomsbury and Covent Garden, which was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. I also walked by the Palace Theatre to see the marquee during the day; it's a beautiful theatre that I walked by at least once a week last year, including the day they put up the marquee in the first place. We were seeing the first part of Harry Potter and Cursed Child that night. My familiar walk took me past the National Gallery and through Trafalgar Square, and as I took a few pictures as I waited for the bus on Whitehall. I didn't pull my camera out at all for the rest of the day while I was out, getting a last minute ticket for The Last Five Years (one of my favorite musicals), eating cake at Peggy Porschen Cakes, and shopping a bit. Before Cursed Child, Shae and I got our form of Thanksgiving dinner: pizza near UCL, soon followed by a big bag of fries from Five Guys.

I make a beeline for the front seat on the second level whenever I get on a London bus; I love the vantage point the second level provides, especially when you're sitting in the front seat with nothing blocking your view. It proved to be a great spot to check out the lights of Regent Street and Oxford Street on our way home after seeing part one of Cursed Child.

After brunch in Covent Garden on Saturday, Shae, Sophia, and I headed over to Notting Hill to walk around, take photos, and peruse the Portobello Road Market.

Codrington Mews, where we had to have a little photoshoot featuring the excellent The Future Is Female shirt. Not pictured: Shae's falafel and a series of photos of us embarrassing ourselves, probably being judged by someone in their house.

Would it be a trip to Notting Hill without a wander over to the beloved St Luke's Mews to take some photos in front of the cute houses? Of course not.
