Final part of my trip to London! On Friday, we headed over to Duck and Waffle and Leadenhall Market, before going to the Sky Garden. We took about a million photos there, through golden hour, sunset, and the beginning of the night. I also saw the second part of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, although not without some drama beforehand.
On Friday we headed to Duck and Waffle, a restaurant in east London with a 40th floor panoramic view of the city and the eponymous duck and waffle dish. Afterwards, we stopped by Leadenhall Market down the street, on our way to the Sky Garden.
I went to Sky Garden two times last spring to take photos and see the city from above. Unfortunately, the view was accompanied by typical London weather both times - overcast, grey, without a hint of sun. I had hoped for a good sunset both times I had gone up there, but it was too cloudy. This time, though, the sky was clear, the sun was out, and there was a lovely sunset.

Once night fell, pink lights switched on inside the space, and the city lights were bright and colorful outside.
Back out on the terrace at night.
When we left the Sky Garden, we hopped on a bus and made our way to the west end. We got off near Trafalgar Square and going in search of a quick dinner, before splitting up to go to shows, Shae and I to see part 2 of Cursed Child. On our way to the Palace Theatre, just down the street, we discovered the power had gone out. Street lights, traffic lights, the marquees on Shaftesbury Avenue, storefronts - all dark, including the Palace Theatre. The power had been out for about two hours, and the theatre couldn't open for the time being. After a worried half hour or so, the lights went back on and we were able to eventually go in (and not miss the second part of the play!), with the show starting an hour late.
